Sophie’s Studio Workshops Make Creative Writing Fun
Sophie's Studio Workshops get kids aged 8 – 12 excited about creative writing by exposing them to published authors who put their imaginations to the test with fun, interactive writing challenges.
Last fall, graphic novelist J. Torres was a popular facilitator, with participants commenting that, "he is nice and I learned lots of things that I didn't know," and "I have new ideas for my own comics." He will return this spring, along with Claudia Davila, Philippa Dowding, Susan Hughes, Rukhsana Khan, Andrew Larsen, and Kevin Sylvester to select branches across the city.
Space is limited, so contact the branch early to register as spots fill quickly. In the meantime, pick up one of these great titles by the workshop authors:
Sophie’s Studio is generously supported by the Toronto Public Library Foundation and a bequest from long-time library lover Sophia Lucyk. It was created to support literacy, creativity and writing skills in children from a young age.
