It's Kindness Week in Toronto, so children are being encouraged to perform deliberate and random acts of kindness to those around them. Fostering a culture where empathy is celebrated builds compassion, resiliency and leadership skills. Bonus perk: giving to others feels awesome!

There are lots of great suggestions for kids to show kindness on the Kindness Week website including book-related ideas like Kindness Reading, where kids read books about kindness. Here are some excellent choices available at the library:

And if your kids want to bring their kind acts into the library, why not create and leave a kind letter in a library book for the next reader to find?
