Play as you Go
The TD Summer Reading Club is in full swing and you and your child can come out and PLAY at libraries across Toronto…but what if you're not in town this summer? Well, why not take the TD Summer Reading Club with you wherever you go!
Visit your local library before you leave for vacation so that the whole family can choose some reading material for your trip. While you're there, register for the TD Summer Reading Club. The free notebook your child gets when they sign up for the Club is totally portable and with their unique web access code, they can also get an online version that they can access through the TD Summer Reading Club website from anywhere in the world.
If you can't do Book Reporting at a branch, ask library staff for a set of TD Summer Reading Club stickers and suggested "Book Reporting" questions that you can use to create an "on the go" version of the Club for your child. Book Report forms (for fiction or non-fiction) and Picture Report forms are also available to encourage them to write or draw about what they liked or didn't like about what they're reading this summer.
And remember, "reading" doesn't just apply to physical books. The whole family could enjoy listening to an audiobook on your drive to the beach or cottage. Or you could pass the time on a long flight or train ride with an eBook or eAudiobook downloaded from the Toronto Public Library website to your tablet.
While you're on the web, check out the TD Summer Reading Club website for even more fun. Silly Stories, Drawing Lessons, and Jokes can add a bit of sunshine to any day but are especially good when the weather keeps your child inside on a rainy one.
The possibilities really are endless and with so many ways to participate, the TD Summer Reading Club can keep your family PLAYing no matter where this summer may take you.
