March Break moviegoers may be interested to catch “The Little Prince” on film, but it’s never too late to read/reread Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s original story

The book has enjoyed many successful adaptations since 1943, when the young prince came tumbling down to the desert from Asteroid B-612 and met a stranded pilot. With timeless themes such as love, spirit and child-like imagination, it’s easy to understand why this philosophical tale has been translated into over 250 languages and dialects from the first French version, “Le Petit Prince.”

The ability to read this poetic story in one sitting is definitely part of its appeal.  I even spotted “The Little Prince” on a list of books that you can read in the time it takes to watch the Super Bowl!

What do you or your kids love most about the book? Are children curious about the classic story or is there something captivating about the contemporary versions?
