Summer Wonder 2018: It Isn’t Over Yet!

August 20, 2018 | Laurie | Comments (0)

Do you find yourself thinking about the fall? Are you stressed about sending your kids back to school – the morning rush – all of those lunches, backpacks and water bottles to fill?

Shelve those thoughts!

Summer Wonder continues at TPL! There’s still time to soak up the sun, and have fun at the library.

Program and Activities

Check out the Kids & Families page to see what's happening at your branch. There are still summer programs available.

TD Summer Reading Club (TD SRC)

  • If your child hasn’t already signed up, pick up a TD SRC notebook and sticker sheet at the library and record books that were read over the summer. Kids can even show their notebook to their teacher when school starts.
  • Visit the TD SRC website to read Kevin Sylvester's online novel, The House of the Twelve Keys, only available online. There are also jokes to share, silly stories to write, and books to read from the recommended booklists

The House of the Twelve Keys

The House of the Twelve Keys by Kevin Sylvester

Pat and Raj enter a mysterious house to escape a severe thunderstorm. Getting out of the house won't be so easy though!

The Summer We Saved the Bees by Robin Stevenson

TeK the Modern Cave Boy

Tek the Modern Cave Boy by Patrick McDonnell

Tek loves his tech maybe a bit too much. It's a different world when he's suddenly disconnected!

Shark Lady

Shark Lady by Jess Keating

She not only studied sharks, but she also swam with them! Dive into the amazing life of a fearless scientist, Eugenie Clark.

Wonder Walls

Is your child curious? Check out the Wonder Wall at your library. Add a wonder and see what everyone else is wondering about, too. TPL staff may respond to your question so watch for staff post-its.

Wonder Wall at Malvern Branch

If there's just no time to connect with TPL during these last days of summer, take a look at the fall programs and events. TPL is there for you and your family throughout the year. And be sure you add "visit the library" to next year's summer plans.
