Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear…

There is a well-known children's rhyme that turns little ones into these celebrated stuffed animals as they follow along with the actions…

Teddy bear, teddy bear turn around.

Teddy bear, teddy bear touch the ground.

Teddy bear, teddy bear show your shoe.

Teddy bear, teddy bear that will do.

Teddy bear, teddy bear go upstairs.

Teddy bear, teddy bear say your prayers.

Teddy bear, teddy bear turn out the light.

Teddy bear, teddy bear say "good night."

There are countless variations of this classic in which the "teddy bears" are instructed to act out other sets of rhyming actions like "jump up high/touch the sky""bend down low/run fast then slow" and "bend your knees/sit down please".  It would be easy to make up your own verses  to do a more personalized version with your little ones. (You could also do a completely different version of this rhyme by replacing the "teddy bear" with other creatures such as "dinosaurs" or "little birds" but probably not when you're celebrating Teddy Bear Day!)

So how will you be celebrating National Teddy Bear Day? By going down to the woods to have a teddy bear's picnic? Or perhaps opening a jar of marmalade and watching a movie? Or maybe you'll just snuggle up with your favourite furry friend and share a some toast and a story

Teddy bear, teddy bear have fun and play.

Teddy bear, teddy bear enjoy your day!
