It is that time of the year. The skating rinks in Toronto are open, much like Tallulah, everyone is excited to get back on the ice. In this story Tallulah learns that skating is a little different from ballet. Instead of getting frustrated Tallulah is reminded that skating is supposed to be fun and not just about being “Super Skaters”.

The protagonist is snowed in, but that does not stop this explorer from faithfully keeping his Captain’s Log. The protagonist is inspired by his school project on Ernest Shackleton and relates his “Snowbound” story to Shackleton’s Antarctic expedition. At the end of the story there is information on Ernest Shackleton and a glossary for some of the nautical terms used in the book. There is also a note from the author explaining the inspiration for the story.

Sometimes making a friend can be hard. That does not mean you should stop trying! Beaver and Raccoon were both in search of friend so they decided to make one, but not with each other. They made a friend out of snow it was not the type of friend they were looking for, though. Eventually, Beaver and Raccoon realized they could be friends!
