Talking to Children About Human Rights Day: December 10, 2019
The United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) on December 10, 1948. This was a milestone document proclaiming the rights which everyone is entitled to as a human being regardless of their background. Since then, Human Rights Day has been observed every year on December 10. Did you know that the UDHR is available in more than 500 languages, and is the most translated document in the world? There is also an illustrated version available online. This is a great tool for sharing the concepts of the declaration with children.
While the topic of human rights may seem like a complex issue to discuss with a child, we have resources to help you start a meaningful discussion on this topic.
