Federal Election Information and News
The 41st federal election will take place on Monday, May 2nd, 2011.
The Toronto Public Library website has links to election coverage from major Canadian television networks and newspapers such as the CBC, CTV, the Globe and Mail, etc.
For your convenience, we have deep-linked into portions of the Elections Canada website as well. For example, the Elections Canada FAQ lists the dates of advance polls:
Friday, April 22, Saturday, April 23 and Monday, April 25. Closer to voting day, check out Elections Canada for your poll location and the ID you need to bring with you to vote.
To find the list of websites, search the Toronto Public Library website by keyword for election 2011 or go to Books, Video, Research and more (blue/black band), then select Recommended Websites, the Government and Politics category, Elections and Electoral Reform subcategory, and 2011 Federal Election. As you refine your search, you will notice other more general websites and subcategories that you might find useful as well.
If you are looking for political party websites, select Political Parties – Canada in Government and Politics.
