Bedbug120f Cimicidae or bed bugs (sometimes bedbugs), are small parasitic insects and most people find them to be a most disagreeable house guest. The words “bed bugs” are enough to send most of us running with skin all aquiver at the thought of little blood-sucking creatures crawling all over us as we sleep. These little bugs are pests, to be sure, and they can be difficult to get rid of once they have decided to make your house their home, hiding during the daylight hours in cracks and crevasses where they are almost impossible to excise.

Over the past few years, there has been a resurgence of bed bug cases in Toronto. It is possible for ANYONE to become infested with these unwanted visitors. An infestation can cause psychological stress, physical pain, feeling of shame, allergic reactions, financial hardships, and LOSS OF SLEEP. Don’t let them get to you !

Saturday, July 16, 2pm – 4pm.  Come and learn all you need to know about bedbugs: identification, health effects, integrated pest management, prevention, updates from Toronto Public Health and resources available!

Presenter: Alicia Lowe-Downes, Health Inspector, Toronto Public Health.

  1. I’m not available that afternoon. Would it be possible for someone to film and post this, or at least share the slides and notes? This is information I’m sure a lot of us would like to see!

  2. Great idea. Unfortunately at this time, we don’t have the capabilities to film this program but we will try to post the notes/slides on a future blog post.
