-> Discovering Your Creative Side <-
Researchers now understand the neurological processes behind creativity. It turns out that sparks of insight and creativity can be managed. With the right tools and/or mentorship, we all can see boosts in creativity levels.
Without delving too deep into research, let’s keep it at this: our minds can be nurtured and trained. Below are some suggested materials explaining what some of the tools are and how you can use them.
I felt encouraged to post something on this topic after a conversation with a colleague about the Swallowing Clouds initiative. Swallowing Clouds is a project that engages children 9-12 years in the performance arts and helps them unleash their creative processes, hidden talents or known passions. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for children to work with talented and professional artists. The standout feature of this project is that there are no premeditated outcomes; the trainers are working closely with the interests of the children and allowing the program to develop organically.
The program begins tomorrow, Tuesday April 16th at 4 p.m. in the Palmerston Library theatre. Follow the link for all the exciting details. Only a few spots remain, contact staff for more details.
