The weather is great — it’s time for a picnic
What's more fun than a picnic? The weather is so beautiful now that I feel like grabbing some friends and family and getting out of the city. There are lots of parks in Toronto where I can go for a picnic, but I want to really get AWAY for a day, to enjoy some fresh air and nature. Well, I am in luck, because Toronto is surrounded by parks that are only 30-45 minutes away by car. They are operated by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
Bruce's Mill, for instance, is a park that is about 35 minutes north of the city. We can have our picnic and then we can go for a hike, bird watch, swim, go to the playground or simply enjoy life. There are many more parks to choose from west of the city, like Albion Hills Campground and the Kortright Centre or east of the city like Petticoat Creek in Pickering or Rouge Park, just east of Scarborough. Check the links to find out what each park offers — some places have fishing and camping too. You'll also find the locations, hours and driving directions.
We all deserve a mini vacation, don't we ?
