Korean at Your Library | 도서관에서 만나실 수 있는 한국어 코너
Hello! 안녕하세요! Did you know that there are ten branches that carry Korean materials at the Toronto Public Library?
With over 4,000 books, CDs, DVDs and magazines to choose from, make the Toronto Public Library the first place you visit if you want to read Korean books, learn Korean or watch a Korean movie. Welcome to Korean at your library!
Have you used Mango Languages? Mango Languages is a language learning tool offering many languages to choose from, including Korean. It is helpful for learning English, too. Why not give it a try? There are other ways the library can help you learn English. Browse the New to Canada section of our website for more information. Here are some books you can use to help you learn Korean:

Have you heard of KPop? KPop refers to Korean Pop Music, which has fans all over the world. Remember when the song “Gangnam Style” came out a few years ago? The song became a huge global hit, but “KPop” as it’s affectionately called was being enjoyed by people everywhere even before that song blew up on Canadian music charts. As of February 2018, Gangnam Style had over 3.1 billion views on YouTube! You can listen to the song on Hoopla. Hoopla is the library's online service for borrowing digital music, video and comics to stream in your web browser or enjoy offline on your smartphone or tablet.
Speaking of Canadian content, our recent blog post highlighted Kim’s Convenience, a Canadian show about a Korean-Canadian family in Toronto. Mr. Kim is a first-generation Korean Canadian and the proud owner of Kim's Convenience, a variety store located in the Regent Park neighbourhood. The show is an engaging portrayal of a Toronto family and the relationships between paren'ts and children growing up as second-generation Canadians.

Hi Suzanne, this seems like a great post about Korean resources at TPL. Can I give to a couple of suggestions on your Korean on this post? Hope it helps!
Good suggestions!
Correct idioms, too.!

Agree. Hope the library actually use the aforementioned Korean expressions instead of the seriously unnatural translation seemingly from Google Translator, even though I welcome the offerings from the library.
Hi Sohee,
Thank you for your suggestions! It is always helpful to get the opinions of someone who knows the language rather than a translating service. Thank you for reading our blog. Much appreciated!
