Malayalam at Your Library | നിങ്ങളുടെ ലൈബ്രറിയിൽ മലയാളം
ഹലോ! Hello!
The Toronto Public Library offers materials in over 40 different languages to cater to Toronto's diverse population. In this post, we will be highlighting our small but diverse Malayalam collection. Malayalam is a South-Indian language spoken in Kerala by the Malayali people and is one of the 22 official state languages of India.
Fun fact: Did you know that Malayalam is spelled the same backwards? It's one of the longest palindromes in the English language!
You can pick up a Malayalam book, CD, or movie at Don Mills and Toronto Reference libraries. You can even check out online newspapers in Malayalam using Press Reader! Don't live close to these two branches? Not a problem! Browse our catalogue, and if you see something you like, place it on hold using your library card, and it'll come right to your home branch.
If you're looking to learn how to speak Malayalam, why not try out Mango Languages? It's completely free to use with a Toronto Public Library card, and gives you access to over 70 different languages! By the end of it, you'll know how to have a basic conversation in Malayalam.
