Summer Fun : Climb Your Family Tree
Has the immensely popular TV series “Who Do You Think You Are” captivated you
and are you interested in your own related (pardon'the pun) experience but don’t
know where to begin?
It has never been easier to begin researching your family history than now.

Here are some tips on how to begin your search:
- Start by noting names, birth, marriage and death dates for your family.
- Visit, call (416 395-5623) or e-mail (clca@torontopubliclibrary.ca) the Canadiana Department at the North York Central Library (6th Floor) or Special Collections, Genealogy & Maps Department (4th Floor) at the Toronto Reference Library (416 393-7131). Both Departments have excellent resources and knowledgeable staff to assist you with your search.
- Search the "Ancestry Library Edition" database. It is available on all Internet computers at Toronto Public Library Branches.
- Check genealogical websites listed in our library catalogue by searching the term "genealogy".
- Take a course co-sponsored by the Ontario Genealogical Society & Toronto Public Library : www.torontofamilyhistory.org
