Free Science Events in Toronto for April 2013

PeoniesThe Science and Technology department of North
York Central Library compiles a monthly calendar of free science and applied
science events in Toronto. Applied science includes health, gardening, pets and
food; all subjects found in the department’s collection. Here is the April calendar.

This month’s highlights include:

  • April 2: Climate and Atmospheric Chemistry of
    the First Two Billion years of Earth History
    , part of the Distinguished
    Lecturer Series from the Centre for Global Change Science at the University of
    Toronto.
  • April 10: Human Stomach: The Ultimate Food
    Processor
    , part of the Lectures at the Leading Edge series from the
    department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry at the University of
    Toronto.
  • April 11: Busting Myths About Cancer
    Nutrition
    , an expert panel and question and answer period with four Odette
    Cancer Centre Registered Dietitians who specialize in nutrition during and
    after cancer treatment.
  • April 24: Great Guns, Brown Bess, Supply
    Wagons, Poor Old Soldiers and Jolly Tars: The Art and Science of Warfare During
    the War of 1812
    , join Major John Grodzinski as he explores the strategy and
    technology of military operations during the War of 1812.
