Free Science Events in Toronto for November 2013
The
Science and Technology Department of North York Central Library compiles
a monthly calendar of free science and applied science events in Toronto.
Applied science includes health, gardening, pets and food; all subjects found
in the department's collection. Here is the November calendar.
November’s highlights include:
- November 3: 2013 Canadian Cancer Research
Conference: Community Forum, an opportunity for the public to engage
with Canada’s leading cancer researchers with lectures on topical areas of
cancer research.
- November 10: Antibiotics and
Resistance: The Red Queen Strikes Again, part of the
lecture series from the Royal Canadian Institute for the Advancement of Science.
- November 24: Downsview Park Nature Connection, Downsview Park staff will take you on a free
indoor/outdoor park program based on nature-themed topics to get you exploring
the natural world.
The Toronto Public Library also offers
many free science and applied science events:
November's highlights include:
- November 5: Diabetes Information Workshop,
at Woodside Square library.
- November 13: Technology and Creative
Community Spaces, at the Toronto Reference Library.
- November 13: Preparing for the Driving Test
for Seniors Turning 80, at Eglinton Square library.
- November 26: “Forks Over Knives”, Runnymede
library.
