Free Science Events in Toronto for June 2016 |

The Science and Technology Department of North York Central Library compiles a monthly calendar of free science and applied science events in Toronto. Applied science includes health, gardening, pets and food; all subjects found in the department's collection. Here is the June calendar (PDF).

June's highlights include:

June 5: Spring Babies at the Zoo – A High Park zookeeper introduces new animal arrivals.
June 7: TorontoVR 25: Post Production for Live Action VR – Learn how post production works in live action experiences for Virtual Reality.
June 18: Why Planetary Science Needs Space Probes: New Horizons at Pluto & Juno at Jupiter – Learn why we need robots to explore planets and how telescopes would never tell us the things we have learned.

June 4: Fabulous Fermentation! All About Sourdough, at Palmerston branch. A bread-making workshop for everyone.
June 9: Homemade Treats for Your Pet, at Wychwood branch. Learn how to make easy, healthy treats for your pet from nutritious ingredients.
June 11: Raising Butterflies, at North York Central Library. Learn how to raise monarchs, as well as how to attract butterflies of all kinds to your garden.
June 15: How Memory Changes with Age, at North York Central Library. A discussion of the latest research on age-related changes to memory and brain function.
June 18: STEM Learning Expo!, at Northern District branch. Come play with some of the awesome technology available at the library: 3D printers, snap circuits, Arduinos & more.
