Free Science Events in Toronto for September 2019
The Business, Science & Technology Department of North York Central Library compiles a monthly calendar of free science and applied science events in Toronto. Applied science includes health, gardening, pets and food – all subjects found in the department's collection. Here is the September calendar (PDF).
September's highlights include:
Sept. 7. Leslie Street Spit bird walk. Will watch for fall migrants, including warblers and other songbirds, raptors, shorebirds and more.
Sept. 10-15. Museum of the Moon at The Bentway. An installation allowing visitors to experience the moon up-close and personal, reminding us of the moon’s influence on our daily lives despite urban barriers like light pollution and high-rise density.
Sept. 23. Mothers With Eating Disorders. Paren'ts who struggle with body image, disordered eating, and Eating Disorders face unique challenges that are often overlooked. These include barriers to accessing appropriate health care, a fear of child protection services and difficulty carrying out daily paren'ting tasks.
