Oooo I loved The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom, it’s a really good, book. In fact, I just might do a book review on it. Hopefully, you will see it soon!
This is probably a dumb question but where can I click to write a review because I would love to write one on the City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare!
I haven’t yet finished The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks but so far it’s quite intriguing and i have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have watched the movie, and so far I perceive that the book will be just as exceptional as the movie, or possibly even better.
One of my favourite book series of all time is the Gone series by Michael Grant. It’s a fast pace, gripping series that showcases teens with supernatural powers. The concept is similar to that of Under the Dome by Stephen King but takes the perspective of younger kids and no adults. I would definitely recommend this book and the entire series.
Hmm, Ken is the one who asked of I wanted to review a book when I requested to join Word Out, he said that I should just email him the review. I think you should email him and ask, there might also be a post about this on the contests page…I hope it’s there.
The Alex Rider series is awesome. It is not one that you can pull out of in a second. It’s action-packed and thrilling, but also filled with bits of humour and the cockiness of a teenager. It’s vastly interesting to see how the clever boy manages to complete what he has in mind while hanging tight to his life when facing crazy villains. I have finished book 4 of the series and I am very much looking forward to reading the next book. Make sure to give the series a try!
My favorite book series is The Lying Game. I love the mistery, and the plot. It shows how much a sibling would go through, just to find the other. Favorite movie(s), of all time, has got to be Harry Potter. I still have to read some books, because I rally want to know about the version the author created, but the movie(s) will always be entertaining.
Personally, I really enjoyed the Lying Game series by Sara Shepard, but was really disappointed by the last book, Seven Minutes in Heaven. As a seasoned mystery reader, I was easily able to guess who the killer was. Nevertheless, you’re right, it’s a fun series.
Since you liked the series, I’d recommend checking out:
-Prep School Confidential by Kara Taylor
-Taste Test by Kelly Fiore
-Riche$ by Megan Cole
-Two Lies and A Spy by Kat Carlton
As they are favourite mystery reads of mine.
My favourite television series would either have to be Sherlock or Doctor Who. They are both brilliantly written by the wonderful Steven Moffat, both different genres yet somehow similar. Sherlock is a twist on the Sherlock Holmes stories by Arthur Conan Doyle starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. Doctor Who is a
sci-fi series about an humanoid alien who travels throughout time and space in a blue police box. Other amazing shows are Supernatural, Arrested Development, and Once Upon a Time. The only problem with Sherlock is that you have to wait takes two years between seasons!
“Tides” by Betsy Cornwell is an awesome, recent YA novel. It’s about Noah Gallagher and his sister Lo (who is battling bulimia) during their summer vacation visiting their grandmother. It’s about family and love, and it’s a wonderful read!
Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll be sure to read some this summer, since they do sound like interesting mysteries. As for The Lying Game, you were right, it was easy to guess who the killer was. I haven’t read the very last book, but spoilers told me that my guess was correct. Still, it was a very good series to read.
“Matched” by Ally Condie is a nice book to read. This book is about a girl named Cassia. She is 17 years old, she found her match, from this match banquet in her society. Cassia’s match was her best friend, Xander, but then Cassia fell in love with another person named KY. Category: Romance. Also there are two more books: 1. Matched 2. Crossed 3. Reached I haven read Crossed or Reached yet, but i’m so curious and excited to read the other two books. Hope you will enjoy reading it!!!!!
“Switched”(“What if you entire life was built on a lie?”) by Amanda Hocking is awesome book to read, during the summer break. This book is about a girl named Wendy switched at birth. When Wendy was six years old, her mom said that she was a monster and killed her son, and later at the age of eleven she discover that she wasn’t a human, and her mother was right, because of Finn saying all these things to her. Finn is a boy that always stalks Wendy. In the book later on Wendyβs enters to a journey to a magical world she never knew existed. Hope you like it! π
Books Series
1. Switch 2. Torn 3. Ascend
The False Prince trilogy by Jennifer A. Nielsen is my favorite right now. I haven’t read the very last book The Shadow Throne, and sadly I know the ending, but still, I’ll read it soon.
The Scorpio Races, by Maggie Stiefvater. It’s about these people who live on an island called Thisby, and every November they catch these crazy wild water horses called capaill uisce (pronounced CAP-ple ISH-ka) and risk their lives in a race, called the Scorpio Races, along the beach, next to the sea. The capaill are based on the Scottish Kelpies, which are known for luring a person into riding them and then running into the ocean and drowning them.
The book’s point of view rotates between two characters: Sean Kendrick, who is nineteen and a regular winner of the race, thanks to Corr, his red stallion capaill, and Kate “Puck” Connolly, the first girl to enter the Scorpio Races–and on a regular horse, no less.
I highly recommend this book. it has lots of slow buildup with Kate and Sean’s relationship and Kate preparing for the races on her horse, Dove. It’s a standalone, not in a series.
You guys should definitely try reading “Shatter Me” by Tahereh Mafi. Her storyline is incorporated in her writing style. I mean have you ever felt lonely, or probably feel like your insane because people make you think your one? Well OMG this book defines that so much! okay so you guys a re probably confused so maybe i should give like a synopsis. SO the story goes on with this girl(Juliette) who was locked up because the people felt like she was a monster. Basically anyone who touches her feels pain and could possibly die. Of course it won’t happen if she forces those people to let go. BUT it’s hard since she likes the feeling!!!! But she’s torn because she doesn’t want to hurt anybody. π So what could happen if one person could touch her and feel no pain at all. LOVE is what!. But one problem, there is this other guy whose out for her. He is like obsessed. So yeah, Just read it. I PROMISE THAT YOU WON”T REGRET IT AT ALL. Like, I didn’t want to put down the book until I finished it.
“The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak is also a splendid book to read. It`s perhaps my favourite book of this year, despite the fact that I`m on the starting pages of the book. The book is narrated from the perspective of death while outlining the ominous days of World War II in Germany. Depicted by a Jewish girl named Liesel Meminger, the protagonist of the story seems to possess bleak emotions as she easily familiarizes her new life without her paren’ts and her brother in a welcoming foster home. This book illustrates Liesel`s interesting life with precise details as she struggles to hide a Jewish friend from the wraths of Hitler and the Nazis while attempting to prevent death from changing her life once more.
OMG you like Anthony Horowitz too? π π Did you know the series was supposed to end at Scorpia Rising but there’s another one about the biography of Yassen. It’s called Russian Roulette and in my opinion, it’s one of the best books in the series. Quite possibly the most best. Also, you should read the Gatekeepers series. It’s also by Anthony Horowitz. π π
“The Green Man” tells the tale of a very curious girl uncovering the mysteries of a very old bookshop. The bookshop belongs to her very old and somewhat delusional aunt who is haunted by past memories. As she lives with her aunt for more days, she starts to understand her aunt’s fears. What she thought was madness before, starts making perfect sense. A mysterious boy that came from nowhere. An odd magician whose tricks seem hauntingly real. A statue of a green man, eerily standing guard, at the front of the bookshop. And last but not least, a home burning down with no evidence whatsoever.

I agree, the mortal instrument series was amazing, every book had me wanting more, I can’t wait to read City of Heavenly Fire.

I am absolutely in love with her other series, “The Infernal Devices”!
I agree, the movie was amazing — and they say the books are always better than the movies. So, I predict the book would’ve been even more exceptional.

Doctor Who is quite a great show, probably my favourite British show, even though I have not watched every single season.

Yeah, Doctor Who is pretty good. I’ve watched a considerable amount of episodes and my favourite doctor is the Eleventh. (Matt Smith) π
