The beauty of an event like Culture days is that it allows an enormous variety of artistic creators to demonstrate their work and skills. In this posting, I feature two fascinating activities.

Acrylic Painting Session with Laser Eagles Art Guild. For people with limited or no speech and with restricted use of their limbs, the Laser Eagles Art Guild offers the opportunity to partner with others in their community to create art.

The name Laser Eagles derives from the creative process in which the artist uses a laser pointer to communicate what should be painted on the canvas to a 'tracker' or 'helper'. Trackers are volunteers: students, friends, family or artists who understand the artists and their abilities.

We invite you to discover the possibility of living in a fully-inclusive society, without labels and segregation, and filled with support, companionship and freedom of expression and meet some dynamic artists.

Drop by the Northern District on Saturday October 1, between 2 and 4 pm to watch a demonstration of acrylic painting and learn how you too can volunteer to participate in this extraordinary program in the arts. Paintings will be on display and for sale as well as greeting cards.

Dodalism Painting Experience by Sio

Richview Library is hosting a unique and intriguing art experience as a part of our Culture Days events. On Saturday October 1 between 12:30 and 4 p.m. make your way to the library to try your hand at Dodalism painting.

Dodalism is a creative process which borrows from the stream of consciousness and Zen approaches to channelling creativity. The goal is to allow the artwork to evolve through the action of doing …whether drawing or painting. This approach produces art work that is rich in substance and sublime metaphor.

Our talented artist Sio urges you to visit the Richview branch and become an important part of his work by actively painting with him, learning the techniques of Dodalism and exploring your artistic talents in new ways.
