The pilot program, an extension of the Sun Life Financial Museum + Arts Pass program, launches Saturday, April 29 at 10 Toronto Public Library branches located in high needs areas. Library card holders can sign out a Performing Arts Pass and redeem it for tickets to film, dance, theatre and more – for free.
Participating organizations in the pilot program include:
- CanStage
- Factory Theatre
- Harbourfront Centre
- Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema
- Royal Conservatory of Music
- Tafelmusik
The Sun Life Financial Performing Arts Pass can be signed out at the following participating branches. Each branch will have three passes available the last Saturday of every month on a first come, first-served basis.
- Albert Campbell
- Black Creek
- Cedarbrae
- Downsview
- Evelyn Gregory
- Flemingdon Park
- Jane Dundas
- Northern Elms
- Parkdale
- Parliament Street
Library patrons with a Sun Life Financial MAP Performing Arts Pass can visit the performance schedule page to see what performances are currently available. They then call the venue box office to reserve their tickets.
Patrons will be required to present their Sun Life Financial MAP Performing Arts Pass, along with the receipt issued by the library, their library card and photo identification at the venue box office to claim their tickets. Each pass is good for one pair tickets at one of the participating venues and is valid for three months from the day it’s signed out.
The pilot will run for eight months, until the end of December, 2017.
