Toronto Public Library and Hot Docs Expand Accessibility Through the 2019 MAP Program
If you have a valid adult library card and you’re a fan of great documentaries, Toronto Public Library has some good news!
This year, as part of its Museum + Arts (MAP) Pass program, the library is teaming up with the 2019 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival (April 25 – May 5) to offer a limited number of Festival passes to people living in high needs neighbourhoods.
How to Get a Pass
The Hot Docs Festival Passes can be *signed out at the following participating branches starting on Saturday, April 6:
- Albert Campbell
- Black Creek
- Cedarbrae**
- Downsview
- Evelyn Gregory
- Flemingdon Park
- High Park (starting April 8)
- Jane/Dundas
- Northern Elms
- Parkdale (until April 7. Parkdale branch will be closed for renovations beginning on Monday, April 8 for approximately 3 months.)
- Parliament Street (until April 18, Parliament Street branch will be closed for renovation beginning Friday, April 19 for approximately 8-12 weeks)
- St. James Town (starting April 20)
Pass availability may vary by branch. The Hot Docs Festival Passes are good for one person for up to four screening tickets, with a maximum of two tickets per screening.
I Got a Pass! Now What?
Library customers with a Hot Docs Festival Pass can visit a special website page to select their desired screening(s). Follow the instructions on the film page to get your tickets. You may choose to have your tickets emailed to you, or to pick them up at the Crave Box Office at the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema, 506 Bloor Street West. If you choose to pick up your ticket at Hot Docs Cinema, please remember to bring your ID.
