Joe sacco But I Like It

(2006) Joe Sacco

Joe Sacco has made his name as a comic artist by reporting on some of the most troubled and violent regions around the world. Before becoming a war reporter however, Sacco followed neo-Psychedelic punk band The Miracle Workers to Berlin, where he later worked desiging posters and album art. In But I Like It, Sacco collects the comics he created on this youthful hedonistic tour of Europe's punk scene.

Off the bus Off the Bus and on the Record: 22 candid interviews by the teen  journalists of The Rock Star Stories

(2009) Jaime, Amanda, Zac and Brittany Rich (with Aaron Burgess)

In 2001, a couple of teens in Boca Raton, Florida started a TV show called The Rock Star Stories. They filmed bands that came through town and developed their own casual interviewing style that leads musicians to open up and talk about the innermost workings of their bands and their music. The best of the interviews—with artists like The Donnas and Fat Mike from NOFX—are collected in Off the Bus and On the Record. Also included are funny stories about what it’s like to cram into tiny trailers and filthy bathrooms to conduct interviews, and helpful tips for aspiring rock journalists on how to get backstage access. (Pretend you’re delivering pizza—it works!) The book is equal parts informative and entertaining—plus, who can resist the cover illustration with its definite echoes of Scooby and the gang’s Mystery  Machine?
