Heaven on earth coverA couple of days back I went to my local library and signed out the book called Heaven on Earth by LIFE Books. It is a photography book featuring beautiful images of world destinations, mainly to spark world vacation ideas. The book features colourful photography of beautiful worldwide scenes and professionally written descriptions of each destination. In my opinion, the best part of the book would have to be the rhythmic descriptions. They have a sort of flow that goes through the mind making beautiful images pop up, almost as if making your mind drool over the pictures.

It is quite a large book spanning more than 30 centimeters along the spine. This, and the fact that the book is quite short, may be its only drawbacks. One of my favourite photos of the book is the one of The Cyclades. It features an amazing aerial shot of the Greek islands in the evening. I feel as though it really captures the purity and the energy of the destination. Another photo that I was quite drawn to was that of Angkor Wat. I feel as though I am naturally drawn to scenes of serenity and grace. I found the misty photo of Angkor Wat gave my impression of the spiritual site a touch of mystery while the monks added a little needed yet much appreciated civil element. Overall the book is quite the sightseeing adventure especially for those that would like to plan a vacation to a new and exciting place.
