Teen Review: Legend
Review by Samia, age 15
Personally, I would give Legend, by Marie Lu, 4/5 stars because it was exceptional. One of the reasons I thought it was exceptional is because it had a great quantity of suspense and a spectacular emphasis on the emotions of the two main characters. Using two points of view of both June Iparis and Day Wing, instead of the author telling the story or just one character.
For example, when June and Day met, they fell in love instantly, not knowing who the other person was. This greatly shaped their perspectives of each other. Another example was when June discovered the identity of the boy she loved. As she could not believe she locked eyes with her brother’s supposed killer. Day on the other hand, also realized that June had come on another circumstance, but not just a coincidence. To capture him. This resulted in Day losing one of his close allies.
In the beginning, the book was a bit confusing since it was incredibly fast-paced and action-packed but after few pages it all made sense. Overall Legend is a very good book and I recommend it to those who enjoys reading sci-fi and mystery novels.
