Write a Review Get a Book

Write a review of a book, magazine, movie, video game, or whatever and we'll post it on the TPL Teens blog.

Every week, there are thousands of visits to the TPL Teens blog and we're inviting you to contribute. Write a review of a book, magazine, movie, tv show, anime, video game, band or whatever and we'll post it. When we publish your post, we'll send a free book for you to pick up at your local branch to say thanks.

You can write a review about an all-time favourite, something disappointing, or tell us what you thought about a bestseller. When you are writing a review, use your own voice and tell it just like you’re talking to a good friend. You can be enraged, goofy, gushy, snobby, moving, minimalist or funny. Be yourself.

Email your review or any questions to teens@torontopubliclibrary.ca. Include your first name, age and the library branch nearest to you so we can send the book there for you to pick up.

Have a look at other people’s reviews to see what others are listening to, reading and watching – then get writing!

Update: Please note this campaign is no longer active. To learn about volunteering opportunities at Toronto Public Library, visit our Volunteer Programs page.

  1. So I’m going to my personal opinion/review on the book Percy Jackson and the Lighting thief by Rick Riordan and I’m also going to be reviewing the series.
The first thing I’m going to to say is that I absolutely loved it, I always recommend it to all my friends. I first read it when I was 11 or 12 (I’m 15 now) and read couldn’t put it down and then read the rest of the series(what was available at that time) in like a week. One of the main reasons I loved is how funny the book/series was but still kept its seriousness and it also made me cry at times :'( I liked all the characters even the bad ones and Percy Jackson is young in the first book but I assure its not gonna be to kiddish and he also ages as the series goes on. So for me it’s a must read and I recommend you to read it to.
5 out of 5 stars for me
    Christin,
