Jack Astor's Bar & Grill logoAt the end of last week, my close friend and I went to grab a quick bite. We were at Shops at Don Mills, so we walked into Jack Astor's and the people working there greeted us. We were asked to sit down for a few minutes until the waiter came to save us. A few minutes after, an older couple came in. The staff asked them if they wanted to sit in the bar area. They said no and then the staff person asked me. It felt like we were down-rated, but as I was hungry, we took up the offer. We heard the other waiters whispering: "Are they supposed to be sitting there?" "Why are they here?" "Where are their paren'ts?" It made me feel terrible and unwanted. Hey, I was just trying to have a good time with my friend, right? Well, it gets worse. My friend ended up not wanting anything, and all I really wanted was some fries. So I told the waitress and she went to talk to one of the other employees and as I was not surprised, they moved us to a two-seater, plus the table was dirty and wasn't washed down properly. In the end, I just asked them if I could take out the fries, because I was upset with the lack of respect they were giving us. The girl waitress moved us yet again to the BAR section, where I don't think people our age should be sitting and took over 10 minutes for the small order of fries I had ordered over 20 minutes ago to come. The fries were cheap, and tasted really good, but their service quality was terrible. I soon realized that there was no way on earth they could treat any adult like they had to us, just two young teens. I do not recommend to go to the Jack's location at Shops at Don Mills if you are going with yourself and some friends. Otherwise the service is much better with an adult.
