Review by Fabiha, age 14

Matched by Ally CondieMatched, by Ally Condie, is about a girl named Cassia Reyes, who lives in a world where everything is decided for her by the society. This includes where to work, where to live, what to eat, when to die and even whom to marry. As Cassia turned seventeen, she was matched to her best friend Xander. Everything was perfect…at least until Cassia started falling in love with her neighbor Ky.

I had my eyes glued to this book for hours, once I had started it. It is an amazing book with a very interesting plot. There were several suspenseful parts of the book that had me reading as fast as I could to see what would happen next. This book was also able to portray each character’s emotions very well, which helped to understand the atmosphere and characters. For an example, whenever Cassia would talk to Ky, the emotions of both characters were portrayed very well, which helped understand the intensity and heat of the atmosphere as well as how guilty Cassia felt for falling in love with Ky.

Another reason why I like this book is because of the characters and how all of them have their own problems that they are facing, which makes the characters a lot more relatable. For an example Cassia is the type of person who can never even think about breaking the rules. However she realizes that her happiness lies in a person who she’d have to break the rules for. She is stuck in between doing what she knows as right, and doing something that will truly make her happy. Each character in this book is portrayed as having a problem in their life, just like how in real life everyone goes through a problem at one point or another.

This book is great for anyone who likes reading romance and science fiction. Overall, Matched is an amazing book, which I enjoyed very much.
