Notes
- Getting Started Guides are Posts.
- Use formatting features on the toolbar.
- Do not change font type, style, size – leave as the default Georgia, 11pt
- If copying/pasting text, first copy the text to Notepad to ‘strip’ away any formatting that would otherwise be carried over; then copy from Notepad to Typepad. Always paste in plain text.
- Add "alt text" to an image
- Use header styles and caption fields, don’t italicize book titles; bold hyperlinks
Headers
- Header 1 is the Title. Do not use Header 2. Start with Header 3.
Hyperlinks
- Open links in the same window rather than New window
- PDFs can be added to a page or post if needed – they should always indicate that’s what they are – e.g. Download the database resource guide (PDF) – and link the whole thing. This is for AODA (meaningful link) and also indicates that it’s a PDF rather than a webpage (and because some devices won’t load PDFs, or people don’t want to open them because they can be large)
Images
- Save images with a meaningful file name
- Load images using Insert image icon on the toolbar
- Add "alt text"
- Always align left
- Use full size image
Contact
- Hyperlink to a "contact us" page rather giving a phone number, e.g. For more information or help, contact Answerline.
Video
- Upload video using Insert video icon on the toolbar OR YouTube Video
