No, not the Vespa, but the feeling of vitality, purpose and meaning in whatever we choose to do.  Michael Adams, co-founder of the Environics Research Group, presents an overview of his newest book,  Stayin' Alive:  How Canadians Will Work, Play, and Find Meaning in the Second Half of their Adult Lives  at Toronto Reference Library's Thought Exchange event on Friday, Jan. 28, at  2 pm in the Beeton Auditorium. 

It's the unprecedented size of the boomer generation (8.8 million babies born in Canada between 1946 and 1965) and their "social values" that will have such a profound impact on Canadian society.  Adams predicts that 54% of boomers will continue working past 65, with 10% retiring, only to start up their own businesses.  Forget about that long walk down some endless beach, baby boomers will want to re-invent themselves with the aim of "Stayin' Alive".   Watch the markets respond to boomers' desire to learn, to be engaged, to discover new places, adventures, and experiences.

And the good news is that we baby boomers are not all narcissistic, egocentric, and self-absorbed.
