A new feature in the Toronto Reference Library renovations is a state-of-the art Learning Theatre in the Business, Science & Technology Department on the third floor.  This will enable enhanced programming and collaborative learning in the renovated library.  You can see from the picture below the steel frames have just been installed for the theatre and the area is expected to be completed in a couple of months.  It will add much-needed programming space and enrich the wealth of learning opportunities at the library.

There will continue to be some service disruptions due to the construction:

For the week of December 1:

The Literature Collection has been moved from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor Languages & Literature Department.

The DVD and video collection has been moved from the 4th floor to the 5th floor Arts Department.

4th floor: the information desk has been moved to a temporary location near the top of the stairs.   There are a limited number of computers due to construction. Computers are available on all other floors.  Listening stations have been relocated along the atrium wall.

3rd floor:  washrooms are closed due to construction.  Public telephones are not available temporarily.

5th floor: the information desk has been temporarily relocated near the stairs. Public washrooms on this floor are closed but are available on the 2nd and 4th floors.

The Arthur Conan Doyle Room on the 5th floor is temporarily closed. However, the collection is still accessible in the Baldwin Room in Special Collections on the 4th floor.
