Dr. Jayawardhana will be interviewed by Ivan Semeniuk, science reporter for The Globe and Mail, about his new book, The Neutrino Hunters: The Thrilling Chase for a Ghostly Particle to Unlock the Secrets of the Universe. Neutrinos are very, very small particles of matter which are extremely difficult to detect. Scientists hoping to catch a glimpse of them have worked in remote locales such as the Antarctic, a mountain tunnel in Italy, and olympic-size underground pools. Award-winning writer, Ray Jayawardhana will introduce you to a cast of intriguing scientists who are researching what neutrinos can'tell us about the universe following the big bang and why antimatter is so rare. Here are some of the accolades his book has received so far:
- A Publisher's Weekly Best Science Book of the Season
- An Amazon Best Book of the Month
- A Book to Watch Out For in December, The New Yorker’s Page-Turner Blog
- A Los Angeles Times Gift Guide Selection
- One of the Best Physics Books of 2013, Cocktail Party Physics Blog, Scientific American
Don't miss this opportunity to meet this esteemed author and researcher!
