During this period of Blue Jays playoff baseball fever the mind sometimes turns to other kinds of blue jays including this engraving by John J. Audubon.  It is part of Toronto Public Library's TD Audubon Collection of 435 life sized hand coloured engravings originally done in the 1830s.

There is a free exhibit, John J. Audubon's Birds of America, currently an display at the TD Gallery in the Toronto Reference Library.   If you can't come in person you can also see a virtual online tour of the exhibit.  You can also read about the history of Audubon at this blog post
