Talent Show and Arts and Crafts Fair for United Way
United Way Committee Member Anna Kwang (Northern District) co-ordinated the organization of the Talent Show and Arts and Crafts Fair for Toronto Public Library’s United Way Campaign. The Arts and Crafts Committee (comprised of Mary DeToma (Silverthorn), Samantha Dizon (Queen Saulter), and Anna Kwang (ND)) organized TPL’s first Arts and Crafts Fair that raised $253 through the participation of 15 vendors, 7 helpers and the sale of 33 raffle tickets. Samantha Dizon, chairperson of the committee issued the following message:
“The Arts & Crafts Committee would like to thank you all for participating in the very 1st TPL Arts & Crafts Fair. In the 1 hour 15 minutes we had to sell our wares, you all did a wonderful job merchandising and selling your work. Quite a few people mentioned how impressed and surprised they were to see how talented all of you are! We hope that you enjoyed your night.”
Vendors donated the prizes for the raffle draw, including jewellery, dinnerware, bookmarks, journals, photography, artwork…all handcrafted by each vendor.
Anna Kwang, on behalf of the Arts and Crafts Committee, noted: “This is our first ever TPL venue. And we hope this will be an annual event !”
The Talent Show raised an additional $673 for the United Way Campaign.
Thank you for supporting TPL’s United Way Campaign. “Without you, there would be no way!” A special thank you to Anna Kwang, Mary DeToma, and Samantha Dizon for their hard work.
