Speaking of Avatars…
Not sure if you guys know about this but we have created some Word Out avatars for you to use on your Facebook as profile pic, Instant Messaging ID or even for your cell phones as photo ID! 🙂
You can find them in our Flickr gallery
They are all FREE and there are several versions to choose from!
Here's a sample!
Enjoy!

Are these especially created for wordout? I remember last year you had these bookmarks with cool drawings on them..are they done by a youth group?
I second C’s comment. Is there a specific youth branch making these promos?
I third C’s comment. I think there is a youth branch behind it and if so could I join
Please see my comment below, C.
Thanks!
Please see my comment below, Alfea.
Thank you.
Please see my comment below, Ma Jam.
Thanks!
Thanks for all your comments above and I thought it’d be easier if I reply to everyone in a separate blog post.
The photos were taken by the Youth Advisory Group (YAG) members from two branches- Sanderson & Barbara Frum.
The graphic artworks were done by a graphic designer in the library.
But of course, you can check the following link to find out whether your local branch has a YAG:
http://ramp.torontopubliclibrary.ca/secondary/opportunities/volunteering/youthadvisorygroups/three-content.jsp
You can call the number provided to find out more information about recruitment.
By being a YAG member, you can help make your local branch more youth friendly! Other than being able to complete your school’s mandatory volunteer hours, you can also learn employable skills and make new friends by participating in a YAG.
Hope that answers your questions. Thanks!
WOAH

i love the design on the back
same for the whole word out poster and everything the colors and everything is amazing
Thanks for the compliments, Subbadra! 🙂
I really like the poster too.
Cool! Thanks =D
Are there any Branch-Specific Word Out Themes?
Hi Daria,
All branches are participating in Word Out 2010 this year. Different displays are created depending on the size of the branch.
The general theme is just to get the word out to teens about it and to promote the chance for teens to get their fines waived either by registering for Word Out or participate in the Read Down Your Fines programs at their local branches.
Some branches will offer programs or prize draws.
Does that help? Thanks, Elsa=>
WOW! Amazing, they must have spent a lot of time planing it out. I like the picture with the words WORD OUT hanging from a bush 😀
Thanks, Lisa! 🙂
Glad you like them.

i like how we can use the avatars on different websites..
websites don’t usually allow that because of copyrights or something! 🙂
