Summer Chills
Have you ever been woken up in the middle of the night by a noise that can't be explained? Ever caught a glimpse of someone out of the corner of your eye, then find they have vanished into thin air? You are alone in your house, suddenly things start to move on their own, the phone rings and no one is there, the TV turns off, the lights flicker and go out. You feel the hair on your neck stand on end, your spine shivers and you just know that someone else is there with you. Could it be a ghost…or something else?
Now you can discover the tools of the ghost hunting trade in the informative book, The Other Side: A Teen's Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal by Marley Gibson, Patrick Burns and Dave Schrader. Find out about different kinds of hauntings, how to put together a crack ghost hunting team and how to protect yourself from vengeful spirits.
So have you ever seen or had an encounter with a ghost? Tell us about it!
Want to keep your ghostly encounters strictly fictional? Then check out Marley Gibson's teen series Ghost Huntress.

I don’t believe in ghosts, though I love reading books about the paranormal (:
I don’t believe in ghosts LOL -_-
I’m afraid of ghosts. I’m sure it’s mostly a psychological thing, but I believe that they are real. I once did a class presentation on why they weren’t real, but that didn’t help me get over my fear. xD My teacher also said that he believed in them at the end of my speech. The assignment was making a persuasive speech. xD
I don’t believe in ghosts either, but I like reading horror books!
i’m not sure if i believe in ghosts, it’s kind of interesting really, i mean there could be ghosts watching are every move, it’s also kind of creepy too; and then again it could just be a figment of my imagination
I’m kind of half/half.
I don’t really believe in ghosts, but sometimes i do, if something really freaky happened. 😀
But if there really were ghosts, it would cool to know that there are actually spirits haunting places, but at the same time, that would be really creepy and scary.
But this book sounds like it will be really interesting, and spooky!
I like getting scared, just for the sake of getting scared! XP
i love horror books, especially Stephen King novels
One time a friend told me a ghost story and I was so scared that I woke up in the middle of the night and freaked myself out thinking there was someone in my room!
I really like the paranormal, and I believe that there are ghosts out there. Like there was a time when a relative died, and all the fish that we had died, as well as all the clocks stopping the moment he died. It was so sad and freaky at the same time! That solidified my belief in the paranormal.
LOL I don’t really like reading horror books, but the Mediator is really good 🙂
ahah i always see random things when im alone at home like shadows, i thought i was hallucinating
but great if i read this book ill know im going crazy AND get creeped out by ghosts
Woow Thats a nice book. It Sounded realy intersting. And i also don’t believe in ghost and what not in that feild. But i like reading horror books.
scary stories give me nightmares! especially ones with ghosts!
Scary Stories that involves ghosts or anything paranormal make me feel paranoid when I’m home alone 😀
haha, this made me LOL.
such an interesting topic.
back in my country, there are a lot of paranormal myths and supposedly true stories which fired up my 2 younger siblings.
they started to make onion, pepper sprays and read books on how to protect themselves against ghosts and others scary monsters.
my grandparen’ts truly tell the best stories that captives my siblings attention.
(: ps. i don’t believe in ghosts but i do believe in souls that can’t pass the barrier of life and death.
have a great day vrybody ! =D
I agree with Nitchie…I also think that there might be souls that might be trapped, and can’t pass the barrier between life and death.
I don’t know if it’s true or not, but u can see a lot of situations like this in the movies now a days.
Who knows? Guess I’ll never find out..

Wow! two post at the same time…..that’s weird..
Anyways, sorry about that. xD!
Back in elementary, one of my friends did the “Bloody Mary” chant at home to try to summon some ghosts. She looked in the mirror, saw a red thing creeping up behind her, and totally FREAKED OUT!! …only to realize it was just a bathroom towel 🙂
I think ghosts might well exist in some weird way though…
I also don’t believe in ghosts, but I like watching shows that include “tracking down ghosts,” because it’s kind of interesting.
I beleive that there are probaly spirits around, whether or not we can see them.but they are there,I’ve never had an encounter myself but my friends have, i’m way too much of a scardu cat to read horrow books even watching a horrow movie with my family will keep me from going to sleep the whole night
I had heard once strange noises in my room. When I woke up in the middle of the night I heard like talking inside. Then I saw a mirage of my balloon tied to my bed like a mushroom cloud. This encounter was about an hour long, so I once went to get a drink I saw a red light flashing then gone. I checked my paren’ts bedroom they were as often asleep. My brother was asleep also. Then I heard a THUD I could’nt tell where it was coming from, as I was sound asleep I saw in my dream I was sleeping the same place I keep hearing evil ritual noises and behind my pillow a tiger attacked me. I screamed as I woke up again, this was the weirdest nights I encountered. Since of all this happened I beleive in ghosts. This is very scary, I didn’t know what this is all about but lucky I have now a dreamcatcher which I beleive in.
(=^.^=)
I believe in ghosts just a little…Sometimes I feel like someones watching me but no ones there…..
I believe in ghosts, but i think they are another species all together. They’re like humans, except they are a species that have a choice on whether or not we can see them.
I am not scared of ghosts or anything paranormal anymore.
Yes, I have had a ghost experience,I doubt it really was a ghost though.
I came to my house after a long vacation probably 3 months and when I walked I was the first to enter the house my family was still in the car,all the lights i knew i turned off were on,all the doors were unlocked and the rocking chair was moving. My first insticnt was to think robbers but nothing at all was missing!
I believe in spirits but not ghosts.Sometimes I feel a presence if I go into an old building.
haha i will not be reading this book as i will probably get nightmares…
I used to say there is no such a thing as ghost or spirit or something like that, but after what happened to my sister and I in my grandma’s basement, I do believe in ghosts. I love to talk about them with my friends or read books about them. One of my favorite book about ghosts is The Summoning. <3 I love that book.
hahahaha!! I love this topic.
Anyway, I don’t believe in ghosts…but I DO have a very wide imagination. So…yeah, I start seeing things if I’m all alone at home without any lights on and everything is eerily quiet.
Actually, when I was a kid, just before I went to sleep, I thought my mom’s spirit was coming out of her body. It started to look at me but I turn away before it did. I wasn’t really frightened – more like shocked and nervous.
So, when morning came, I asked my mom if she dreamed something ‘cuz she mentioned to me that when our “spirits” wander when we sleep, it actually means that we’re dreaming and what we dream is what the “spirit” experience.
I had an encounter once when I was younger. Right as I was turning to go into my room, I glimpsed a smiling european elderly woman in traditional garb. I panicked, waited an eternity, mustered the courage to peep inside…and she was gone.
that’s a nice theory you’ve got there…
pretty cool; i never thought of it that way…
I used to believe in ghosts and I guess other forms of paranormal activity (haha the movie..LOL), but after a few years it just stopped. Maybe I matured and lost my fear or..just..I dunno, haha. Weird stuff. I used to hum in the washroom though cause I was so scared of them.
You had a nice intro paragraph Margaret! 🙂
This book can’teach us all a valuable lesson – if you are writing non-fiction and a teenager checks out your book, the teenager is ALREADY INTERESTED IN YOUR TOPIC. Which is good. And in the end it will make you sound OLDER THAN FORTY.
Okay, that’s my rant. I love capitals!:)
I looove ghosts and horror stories!! And it all started with R.L Stines series. They chills you feel are just exciting when reading a good thriller.
I never experinced anything supernatural >.<' but I don't know how I would handle a ghost or a spirit T__T Summer nights are fantastic time to tells ghost stories and read about them ^___^
I always convince myself that I don’t believe in ghosts. However, after watching any kind of somewhat scary or mysterious movie I feel the need to wait for the right moment to run up to my bedroom and hide under the covers for a while…
You never know who (or what) might be following you ! 🙂
I like reading about paranormal and supernatural stuff!
Woah! Ghost?! I get nightmares from books like that ;D. However, I did read Bliss which had a ghosts but the whole story turned out awful D;
I read this book and it was awesome. It has many things you have to know if you were to hunt for ghosts. If I weren’t so scared of ghosts, I wound so go and hunt for them.
i don’t believe in ghosts either, but i love reading books, however i sometimes can see ghosts or death whenever i go around. however, i don’t believe in them, but i would love to do ghost hunter and try to find ghosts in a haunted house or any building
I don’t believe in things I’ve never seen with my own eyes or met in person, but sometimes I can’t help but believe they can be there if I can’t think of a logical explanation when a coincidental circumstance happens.
