Get Ready to Shiver
Grace is: kind of lonely, living a quiet life with her distracted paren'ts near Minnesota. As a child, Grace was attacked by a pack of wolves but miraculously survived unharmed. Now she watches the wolves in the woods beyond her home with fascination, especially one with piercing yellow eyes.
Sam is: leading a double life. In summer he is the cute boy with strange eyes who works in the bookstore where Grace hangs out. In the cold winter he must change. The coming chill marks his transformation into a wolf.
Tragedy brings these two together and they fall in love. But Sam can't stay human forever, and the summer is drawing to a close. Will they find a way to be together? This is a delicious summer treat for all fans of paranormal romance. Shiver is beautifully written, fast paced and full of twists and turns.
Breaking news!! According to Maggie Stiefvater's website, www.maggiestiefvater.com, Shiver has been picked up by a major film studio and looks like it will soon be a movie. So, if you were the director, who would you cast as Sam and Grace?
By the way, the second book in Maggie Stiefvater's The Wolves of Mercy Falls series is Linger, and watch for the third book Forever to come out soon!

For Sam I would like Zac Efron and for Grace I would like Selena Gomez. That’s my choice =)
I saw this book in the library
😀
I could only find the hardcover in the library 🙁
-likes paperback-
I didn’t want to read this at first just out of my general dislike of the whole vampire/werewolf love story genre (it’s not so much the genre itself, but everybody’s so gaga over it, and everything nowadays seems like someone trying to cash in on all the Twilight fangirls out there) , but reading this review it actually sounds kinda awesome!
And besides who doesn’t love a cute guy who works at a bookstore? I mean, that’s like a boy who works in heaven! 😉
I read this book already and it was AMAZING =)
I loved the toned emotion that this book brought up from deep inside of me. I literally cried in some parts because the love they both had for each other was so romantic!!
I recommend this book for everyone to read and I rate this book 5/5!
If I were to be a director, I would choose Taylor Lautner as the character of Sam.
And as the character of Grace I would choose Nina Dobrev (the girl who plays Elena Gilbert in the Vampire Diaries).
Great book! Can’t wait ’till I get a copy of Linger!
I really don’t want to see any disney celebrities playing the movie roles though. Maybe some really good unknown actors =)
I have had this book on hold for some time now. xD I won’t be able to re-active it until I finish my pile of books that I need to finish before school starts. Probably not going to happen. xD
As for the actors… I could care less. As long as they do the part right, then it’s all good. =)
At first, I didn’t cast out a second glance this book because of the lack of popular genre (i.e.Vampires, Werewolves, etc). However, after having to read this to help out younger siblings, it seems to be amazing.
I’m sure the actors will be able to carry out the movie no problem. And I am tres anxious for the 3rd book to come out indeed!
I LOVED SHIVER!!! Especially the candystore scene! I loved the description that the author used, it made me feel like I was actually there, smelling everything with Grace. However, I am a person cut off from television and most movies, so I would have no clue as to who should star them in a movie. What I do know is that I can’t wait to get my hands on Linger and Forever.
there’s a lot of people who hold this book. I’ll borrow this book after I finished my other book lol. It’s really confused to decided who will be Grace and Sam. Maybe I gonna choose Taylor Lautner as Sam, and Ashley Tisdale as Grace.
This book is definitely worth reading! I will try looking for it at my home library.
LOVING SHIVER!!! It is AMAAZZINGG! Sam seems like an amazing guy and I would so diee to be Grace…Besides the getting attacked part… BUT LOVING IT AND CAN’T WAIT TO READ LINGER!
From the description of the book and the comments on the page, Shiver sounds like an awesome book! I will order it from the TPL right away. 🙂
