Volunteers needed for Black Creek Living History Project

If you're near the York Woods library and/or interested in local history you may want to check out their Black Creek Living History Project. They're looking for teen volunteers to conduct interviews with area seniors using digital video equipment and to edit the seniors' stories to make up part of an exhibit with an online presence.

An introductory workshop on interviewing skills is being held at the York Woods branch (1785 Finch Ave. W.) on August 25th from 1:00 – 4:00.  Contact the library at 416-395-5980 for more information.

  1. This is going to be a great project. I can’t wait to meet all the other participants at the workshop on August 25th.
If you still want to participate but can’t make the workshop, just send Librarian Jessica Rovito an email at jrovito@torontopubliclibrary.ca

  2. That’s too bad Saju. But if you still wanna participate later on in September, just shoot me an email!

  3. Hey, I heard Vaughan Public Libraries is doing an Oral History Project just like this! I’ve always thought the idea was super cool, and I’m sure the Black Creek Living History Project will be just as awesome.
