What We Read Last Week, Part 5 : The Halfway Mark
I have the final exam for the course I'm taking this summer on Saturday, so most of my reading time last week was spent reviewing the BABOK (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge). This is nearly as much fun as it sounds!
I did at least manage to borrow Will Grayson, Will Grayson with some intent of reading it. Maybe by next week, if my brain hasn't totally dissolved from staring at UML diagrams and remembering the difference between user stories and use cases.
What has everyone else been reading? And if anyone else has also been reading the BABOK, can I copy your notes?

Last week I finished reading Last Chance and You Can Run from the Robyn Hunter Mysteries and some pages from the Canadian Geography textbook. Also, I read two stories from the That’s Ghosts For You Collection, which has many horror stories by different authors.
I am reading Hunger by Michael Grant right now, a Gone novel. It’s fun and exiting, but I got off track and started reading manga…
The hotest anime/manga for me right now is “Betrayal Knows My Name(Uraboku/Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiu). It has a bit of shounen ai and a lot of action.
Here’s a Summery:
Sakurai Yuki is a mysterious boy with a mysterious ability. He was found in the bushes as a baby and adopted by his current family. Because of this, Yuki strives for independence. The last thing he wants is to be a burden to anybody. Furthermore, when he touches others, he can feel their emotions. Unable to control his ability, he often made insensitive blunders in the past. With death threats and his abilities increasing, what will happen when a man claiming to be his older brother appears?
BABOK? lol, nope haven’t been reading that. But what i have been reading is Rich Girl from the BFF novels. it was very good and great to read. it tells alot about high school kids, and the story is your common average high schooler (with a load of C@$H inher pocket). She thinks shes in love with Steve– popular, muscular, athletic. Steve turns out to be a complete scum. Her neighbour, on the other hand (also her maid’s son) is completely different, environmentally healthy and an artist. hes sortof like an abstract art himself. She figures that out later on and falls for him hard, she gets him too <3
Ooh, I love Will Grayson, Will Grayson. David Levithan and John Green are both amazing authors.
I read some books from the House of Night series. I read the first book a while ago and recently continued reading them.
Last week I read Percy Jackson and the Olympians : The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan and The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong. For graphic novels I read Black Butler vol.1 and Reborn vol.14.
I haven’t read the second book of Percy Jackson. Still waiting for it to arrive at the library :p
Right now i’m reading Party Princess by Meg Cabot. It’s a pretty good book but sometimes the main character does some dumb things….I can’t believe she worrys so much over such small things…
I read Hunger, A Gone Novel by Michael Grant, re-read Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone By J.K. Rowling and now I’m re-reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
I’ve been re-reading Scott Pilgrim in anticipation for the movie next week! 😀
i read You and the Pirates and The Hunchback Assignemtns.
You and the pirates was pretty random but interesting becasue the main character is literally YOU.
The hunchback assignemtns was a steampunk themed re tell of the hunchback of notredame. It was pretty good and hearteneing but funny because Modo as he is called becomes a spy
last week, I read The Hunger Games all two in a row! I loved them they werecompletely bewitching i loved the plot.
there was a girl names catniss, and she takes her sisters place in the games that would be fought to the death, to demonstrate the districts rule over its people.
She also has a bestfriend named Gail…and he is awesome! 🙂
Then there is Peta who is her partner yet rival in the games they are partners because he is from the same district. In the end Peta and Catniss refuse to kill eachother. And then the Rulers are mad.
I read “The Ex Games” by Jennifer Echols. It’s about two teens named Hayden and Nick who use to go out but broke up. Find out why? Any who, When Hayden wins the girls division of a local snowboarding competition, Nick is unimpressed, claiming that Hayden wouldn’t have a chance against a guy. So it’s the Battle of the Sexes, Nick and Hayden, a head to head boarding contest. Who will win? and Will the ignite some old flames on the way?
Read this book everyone!!!!!:)
I read that book too and i think it was sweet that ever since their breakup Nick still liked Hayden but he couldve saved them both time on wondering if the other person was thinking of them. Well i guess if Nick had confessed to Hayden That he still like her there wouldn’t be a book 🙂
I love the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Its a cool book having to read greek mythology in a different way from the mythology tales usually told.. in this book it feels like you can connect the book to some kids in the world whos paren’ts who weren’t really there for them like the gods and goddesses weren’t really there for there demi-god children*shrugs* it has love to make things a little more intresting but even though without it was still a kool book 🙂
I read Devil’s kiss and Go ask alice last week. I liked devil’s kiss it was intresting. But Go ask alice was little bit sad but it was a true story about a girl who takes drugs and dies. that was so sad :'((. I felt sorry for her. I also read 13 little blue envelopes it was cool! i liked it. 🙂
I’m waiting for the first book in that series! Sigh, looks like I won’t be getting it for a while.
I read Give up the ghost by Megan Crewe it was her debut book. its about a girl named cass who can’talk to ghosts after her older sister died from drowning. She prefers the ghosts than to “breathers”. to her ghosts are more dependable and umcomplicated. so she made it sorta her duty to spill the dirt of all the poseurs in her school including her ex- bestfriend. one day when the student council vice president asks for her help talking to his deceased mother and these two develope an intresting relationship and open up to one another and grow through trials they face
Lately, I have been reading the first book in L.J Smiths’ Night World Series. I just started reading a couple chapter so from what I have read so far all I cant tell you is that the girl just found out that she is dying from an uncurable cancer, and her best friend who she secretly has a crush on (who is also a vampire) is trying to bend the vampire rules to save her. This story is sooo addicting, that I cannot put it down. I will let you guys know how the book is after I finish reading it. So far, this book is GREAT =)
I am currently addicted to paranormal romance series…I put a hold on “Shadow of the Moon”(Dark Guaradian Series) and “Dark Flame”(The Immortals Series). The two books arrived today, so I cannot wait till I get the books and start reading them! =)
I read SUDDENLY SUPERNATURAL book 3. It’s about this medium – a person who can see ghosts- girl, named Caitlin. Caitlin has to help the ghost of a medium woman understand that she is now dead, has to help the ghost return to the afterlife. Which isn’t easy since the ghost doesn’t understand stuff easily. Caitlin also has to save a hotel from a dark force that is killing people.
It is an awsome book. 😀
Business Analysis Body of Knowledge…? I’m scared for the future now. XD
Anyway, I’ve been reading Grim Hill Family Secret by Linda DeMeulemeester. It’s a very good book, in the Grim Hill series. It’s kind of easy to relate to Cat because I am the same age as her. Maybe it’s just me, but I find that it’s easier to relate to protagonists that are my age. There’s just something about it.
I read Eyes like Stars, Maze Runner, Taken, Dragon Rider, Scatter, and I think Frostbite.
Anyhow, I have been reading these book and I love them. They are all in a mix authors that I have been reading because I love reading different authors to see which books is a good book to read and I love to change up the authors to see the different writing skills that they have in their minds. I recommend any authors that suits to anyone and try to read it and then compare the others to see which is your favorite
i read “Chainfire” by Terry Goodkind
i read “Another faust” the book has a mysterious feel to it but the climax was confusing to understand but overall i recommend this novel
