Svetlana Chmakova will be hosting a manga/drawing workshop at the Albion
Public Library on Wednesday August 7th at 4:30 PM.
Svetlana is the award winning creator of the popular
Nightschool: The Weirn Books (vol. 1-4), who has also worked with James Patterson on Witch and Wizard: The Manga series.
Come on out to see Svetlana in the flesh and enter a draw for
a chance to win an autographed copy of one of Svetlana’s books!

I love manga and drawing stuff! Out of curiosity, is there going to be any drawing contest or something hands-on in Word Out?

There isn’t a drawing contest for Word Out this year, but it’s a great idea and I will definitely bring it up at the next meeting. You should check out Svetlana if you are able to… I’m sure you can pick up some great new tips and techniques 🙂

A manga club? That is so cool!
It is! They even publish their own magazine (the ‘Mangazine’) and make it available to patrons, so that they can get others interested in Manga and Anime as well. They submit their original art work, poetry, fanfiction, short stories, etc. It really is fantastic.
