Get Ready!
Well, it's coming down to the end of summer and we have to start looking at stocking our pantries and refrigerators with the necessities of school life. What might that be? It all depends on what you like to eat and how much time you are willing to devote to preparing your meals. We've talked about breakfasts-to-go so if you like smoothies, now is a good time to make a list of fruits and other ingredients you would need on a regular basis. Look out for sales on waffles and things of that sort.
Lunch requires a little more thought. If you're not good at spur-of-the-moment packing then making a list of possible lunches ahead of time is a great idea. If you make a weekly lunch plan then you can be sure that you will be able to have a lunch everyday and be happy with it. The worst thing is to throw something together in a hurry and then you don't really want it at lunch time. If it's a cold lunch you can pack it the night before. Be sure you have the required containers to store your lunch.
Snacks can also be packed the night before. Fresh veggies can be chopped, put into containers and stored in the refrigerator.
So get ready, get planning and then grocery shopping.
What are you doing to get ready for meals during school?

I really believe that the easiest lunches are sandwiches. They can have variety and are insanely simple to make
well the idea of preparing it before is really good, that way you don’t have to rush! if you like your food hot like i do, then you can buy a hot pot! 😀
I totally agree!
I also love smoothies for breakfast! Except my mom doesn’t believe that it’s filling enough, so sad.
Somedays it feels like my dying wish to take a simple peanut butter (with or without jam) to school. I’m usually satisfied with leftover pasta or a ham sandwich, but I have serious peanut butter cravings. Sometimes I even come home for lunch just to have it. I often skip breakfast in the summer (I know it’s the most important meal of the day, but I’m a rebel). However, my paren’ts make me eat something on school mornings so I usually have toast with peanut butter and honey. I swear, peanut butter goes well with almost EVERYTHING.
I have never had to think about this but now that I am starting high school I guess I am going to start off with sandwiches. I am also going to make sure I have some money in my wallet just in case. What an adventure this will be!
Sandwhiches. Lots and lots of sandwhiches.
Ever since summer started, my pantry has reduced to half the size since my paren’ts aren’t buying any snacks. I guess good times will resume when school starts. I need my snacks! Oh and my paren’ts don’t trust me around the kitchen yet so I guess I can enjoy mom/dad made lunches for a little longer.
That’s so true, peanut butter goes with everything.Just be careful if you’re going to be around someone who is allergic.
Don’t forget to throw some fruit in your bag, too.
Hey, enjoy it while you got it. I wish someone was still making lunch for me.
I honestly can’t tell you how nice it is for other people to make your lunch!!!! It really saves a lot of time
