Metal Until Death
And afterwards, if you are the brothers in the graphic novel series Black Metal (#2 is on our summer list!). Or, if you start early, that could be a loooong time away. The 12 year olds who make up the metal band Unlocking The Truth, for example, have got a whole lifetime of thrashing ahead of them. Have you heard of these kids?
You'd think some tweens from Flatbush (Brooklyn) would be into rap, like a lot of their friends, but you'd be wrong. Somehow, they found each other and their passion for metal turned into a band. There is a pretty good little profile and interview on them on noisey, here, along with plenty of pictures of them at work. (I'm loving how the drummer is just in his kakhis or whatever, just doing his thing and never mind the image. Heh.)
Now you want to hear, don't you? Here ya go:
These guys are pretty serious, but surprisingly, they are not the only little tiny storms of metal going on these days, either. Did any of you catch the little 6 year old girl and her 9 year old brother who turned America's Got Talent on its ear when she came out not with some sweet candyfloss, but with some heavy, heavy deathmetal of their own composition? Seriously, the juxtaposition of her cute little dress and her crushing vocals is pretty intensely awesome. Check it out:

The band “Uncovering the Truth” is pretty intense. They are really good considering their age. As for the “innocent” girl, her song creeps me out…
I totally agree. In the first video, the boys are amazing musicians! But in the second one, the genre of music isn’t very suitable for her age.
Just awesome… that’s all i gotta say
