ParasiteParasite
by Mira Grant

Imagine, you survived a terrible car accident and owe your life to an experimental drug. That drug happens to be a genetically modified tapeworm owned by a maniacal corporation. Your current existence is that of a living guinnea pig, but you’ll be allowed to have a boyfriend – who happens to be a parasiteologist – of course.

In Mira Grant’s stunning thriller set in the very-near future, the reader is plummeted into a 1984-esque scenario of corporate experimental medicine, corporate control of life, and Big Pharm influencing politics.  Not so off the mark, some might think.

I couldn’t put this book down.  It reads so vividly, I caught myself holding my breath.  Don’t let the size deter you, it’s a page turner!  Great if you need a longer book to burn through car rides or lazy afternoons.
