A suspenseful and riveting novel about a father and ex-soldier suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), the murder of a young girl, drugs, lies, secret games, and a daughter who won't rest until she finds the truth.

Emily Sheppard's father has been charged with the murder of Ashlee Parker, a senior from her high school, after he  emerges from the the woods carrying Ashlee's lifeless body in his arms. He has no answers for what happened and the only word he says is 'Gone'. With his trial coming to a close, Emily is desperate to piece together the events of that night and her best shot is Ashlee's boyfriend, Damon.

Damon was the last one to see Ashlee alive. The two of them, along with three of his buddies, were in the woods that night playing their secret game. A game they played often, but why can't Damon remember anything? He has no recollection of that night, and no matter how hard he tries, he just can't remember.  When and how did Ashlee run in to Emily's father? Why did he murder her? Had he been watching them playing the game? Did he watch them often in the dark woods? With a million questions of his own, and an unwanted but compelling attraction towards Emily, Damon sets off on his own path to find answers.

How will their paths cross and what will they learn? Lucy Christopher will keep you on the edge of your seat as Emily risks her own life to play a dangerous game that will either lead her to the truth, or end her life.

  1. This sounds like a great book! It seems dark but very intriguing and keeps the reader wanting to know what’s going to happen next. I’ll be adding this to my list this summer!
