Create a Book Cover with Patricia Storms!
Cover Me – Creating A Winning Book Cover
Who judges a book by it's cover? We all do! Our choice to read a book is often influenced by the cover design. Creating covers can be fun, but there's a lot of work that goes into producing a winning cover. Author/Illustrator Patricia Storms will be hosting this creative workshop that reveals an 'inside' look at how a book's cover helps get it onto the bookshelf.
So stop by the Hillcrest Branch for a chance to meet Patricia and design your own awesome cover (which you can consider entering into one of our contests for a chance to win a prize)!
Patricia will be stopping by the library on July 31 at 2 PM. Call 416-395-5830 to register or for more info. Or just stop by the branch!

Sounds interesting, I’ve always been curious about how book covers are made.
This seems great! I love nice covers, especially the glossy ones.
Yes I also love the cartoony, hand drawn covers for picture books.
Yes! I miss my treasured children books, all the digitally design books for teens are just not as interesting.
Yes since there all photo-shoped pictures, hand drawn covers are more original and endearing.
Yep! Hand draw all the way!
Ues its too bad most teen books aren’t hand drawn
I’ve done a book logo before and it was fun… I guess entering the contest would be just as interesting 😀
Eeep! I hope everyone found out that the actual date is July 31st not the 21st. Hope to see lots of folks there! 🙂
Ack! Good catch, Patricia! We’ve corrected the mistake. Sorry all for any confusion this may have caused!
