So you think you can writeIf you fancy yourself a creative type who is really interested in plays this is for you.  Kapisanan Philippine Centre has partnered with the Kennedy/Eglinton Branch to provide three fabulous Wednesday afternoons of playwriting workshops! August 1, 15 and 22, from 2 until 5, in the Kennedy/Eglinton Multipurpose Room.  It's open to youth aged 14 – 24.

There's a catch – you have to register – and as soon as you can, too. It's filling up fast! Registration must be done by email to kat@kapisanacentre.com. You must register for all three workshops. The workshops are facilitated by the award-winning Nina Lee Aquino.  She is a winner of the prestigious Dora Mavor Moore award and is excited to share her experience with youth.

The Kapisanan Centre's mission is to promote the social and  professional development of Filipino youth, artists, and entrepreneurs, using Filipino culture and knowledge-of-self as a foundation for empowerment — for the whole community!

Kennedy/Eglinton is located at 2380 Eglinton Avenue East, just west of the Kennedy Subway on the northwest corner of, where else, Kennedy and Eglinton in Scarborough.  As an added bonus, you will perform the plays you create on Saturday August 25 at a public performance at the Kapisanan Centre in the Kensington Market area. This is a great opportunity to hone your skills, make connections with talented wordsmiths, and perform publicly.
