One is Not Enough — Contest!
Trilogies. Series. We love them for the extended involvement with a story, the familiarity of the characters, the way one character can have several adventures or one very satisfyingly long quest. But at the same time… they drive us nuts. Trying to get our hands on the next one in the right order, or even worse, waiting for it to be published! How many times have you been waiting for that next one when you really, REALLY wanted it in your hands right. now?
Luckily, those of you who have read or are planning to read This Dark Endeavour won't have to wait for the second part, because it was just published on Sunday! I really enjoyed the first part, so I'm feeling very lucky that I was able to get hold of an advance copy of part two, Such Wicked Intent, and I'll be talking about it later this week! For one of you lucky people, though, getting it won't be hard either, because we're going to hand one right to you.

This is probably no surprise, but the notorious Harry Potter series had me waiting very impatiently for the final installment – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it and finally read the ultimate 10-years-in-the-making book. I crossed out the days on my calender leading up to the release date. And finally, when it arrived, I waited outside a store for 3 hours to get a hold of the copy on the first day…it was totally worth it! 🙂
A book that I’m dying to have in my hands is The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan. It’s coming out on October 2nd, but I haven’t any clue how much longer I can wait! I’ve only recently read the first two books in the series – that makes the wait much shorter. I’m counting down the days to its release date (which also happens to be my birthday!). The last book, The Son of Neptune, didn’t exactly finish in a cliffhanger, but just making me want to read more about the epic adventure to come.
the book that im dying to get my hands on is Final from the Hush Hush saga. The concluding instalment of the series I am very excited but sad at the same time that the unstoppable page turner has come to an end. It is coming out in fall 2012 and my birthday is in fall so my paren’ts are going to get me the book for my birthday. YAY!!!!
The Chicken Soup for the Soul
The Chicken Soup for Soul series is the book I’ve been waiting impatiently. If you think it’s about food, it’s certainly not; although that would be very thoughtful idea. I am waiting for the next installment which is coming this fall. Whenever I hear of another installment coming up, I am very eager and thrilled to read it because each book has different kinds of themes. I am very keen to these kinds of books because they are witty and give a realistic a point of view of the world. The sweet little messages and stories written in the books are heartwarming and touching. I was much habituated and stuck to the series till now because I have read these books since I was a preteen. Once you are hooked with stimulating book you can’t put it down for some reason.
One book that I have been desperately waiting for is the third and final book in The Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare. It’s coming out in March and I would prefer to have it now. The second book left me with a lot of questions and waiting over a year for the answers is killing me. Definitely counting down the days until I can devour yet another one of Cassandra Clare’s lovely books!
The Meg Cabot “Underworld” series has had me waiting for each book. I discovered it when there was just the first out, though luckily not too long before the second came out and the third is to come out soon. so, yay! But – the wait is long when the story is just that good and you can’t wait to hear the rest.
The book I had been dying to read was The Reckoning by Kelley Armstrong. It’s the third book of The Darkest Powers trilogy. I remember when it just came out I finished the book the next day which is quite a feat for me since I have a pretty short attention span when it comes to books. The author even came to my school and I got her signature on a The Gathering bookmark! 🙂
what’s the prize?
I’m really hyped up about the “Gone” series written by Michael Grant. I’m waiting, for what seems like forever, for the newest book, “Light”, to come out!!! I’m desperate to know what happens to the charactors that I have come to love soooooooooooo bad. Will they survive? Who dies? What happens in the end?!
Arg, I’m dying to find out! I hope Mr. Grant finishes writing to quickly or I think I make take some drastic action…
The Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter. This series is just amazing.
After reading each one, I had to wait for so long for the next one. I could not wait to read it! Once you grab the book, you can NOT put it down. The first book of the series is “I’d tell you I love you, but then I’d have to kill you”, the second book is “Cross my heart and hope to spy”, the third book is “Don’t judge a girl by her cover”, the fourth book is “Only the good spy young”, the fifth book is “Out of sight, out of time”, and the book that I am now desperately waiting for is the last book of the series. I used to constantly check the library website to see if they had the book, and if I found it, I put it on hold and waited for it to become available for pick up. Then I’d take it home and read it maybe four times! It’s just that good!!

The hardest wait i’ve ever had was for the final eragon/inheritance book. The series was originally going to be a trilogy, so when i picked up the 3rd book i thought the long wait was finally over. The author fit so much into that book however that he made a 4th installment. For about 2 years I checked the official webpage every week as well as the indigo site. It ended up being released in the middle of my exams, so i had no idea it had come out. I was pleasantly surprised at the mall celebrating my final exam when i saw the inheritance display in the window of the book store. Needless to say, i bought it right away.
There was no chance to read it while out shopping with a group of friends. This just presented another far more tortuous wait until i could get home to read. Imagine- so close i was holding the book in my hands while so far that i couldn’t manage more than a quick skim of the novel before being called back into the conversation. : ) It was an amazing book though, with a great and far more realistic ending than most fantasys

The first novel series that attracted me was “Little Secrets’ by Emily Blake.
Little Secretes is made up of 6 books describing the life and events of Alison Rose. Every chapter is told in a different character’s perspective giving me as the reader, a sense of adventure and curiosity.
The library, a second home to me only had 5 out of the 6 books at the time. It was frustrating to be left out of the ending and i longed for the book to appear on the shelf one day. Unfortunately for me that never happened, instead the whole series was replaced by many new popular books along with new shelves and so on. I would read the books again knowing the series has a ending and to catch up with Alison’s life.
Notorious means “famous or well known, typically for some bad quality or deed”… Harry Potter books are famous because they are sooo good!
The series that kept me waiting for the next installment was Meg Cabot’s Abandon Trilogy. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the second book Underworld. The first book was so intriguing, full of action and romance and the twist on mythology was so very refreshing that I fell in love with the book and the characters right away. I stayed up all night reading the book, the ending was a real cliff hanger. (So you can imagine my disappointment when I finished and wasn’t able to follow up right away on my beloved characters adventures.)
After reading the last page I was so full of questions and wanted so badly to have the answers that I was just left to read the book over and over again just to get my fix. (Fortunately for me, I’ve finished the second book but unfortunately I still have to wait for the last book Awaken to come out.)
When I found out the author of the Mortal Instruments wasn’t going to end the series on the third book, I jumped out of my chair in glee! I am dying of the wait for the sixth book, City of Heavenly Fire, of Cassandra Clare’s series. I love how the author creates a totally new world filled with shadowhunters, which I would love to live in. The last book is set to be released in 2 years,2014 ,which is killing me because it is soooooo far away. It has made me constantly check her tumblr/twitter accounts and too emotionally invested in her books ._.

Cirque du Freak series was one of the books i had been waiting for soo long because reading the installments was very addicting. Each book had so much suspense that left me hanging with more questions on what to anticipate in the final book. As i was waiting excitedly for the final book, i was anticipating perfectly on what is about to come. Using my wild imagination i was trying to imagine if the protagonist will be left in a difficult dilemma or be left in a cliffhanger situation. The book was word the wait because the ending was revealing and surprising.
The final book was called Sons of Destiny.
One series that I am crazy for the next installment would have for the third and final book of the Divergent series, written by Veronica Roth, which won’t come out until Fall 2013! Nowadays, many young teenagers have fallen in love with dystopian novels such as The Hunger Games.Â

In the novel, Divergent, Beatrice Prior is preparing to make one of the biggest decisions ever: will she stay in the faction that she was born into and say with her family or will she join a new faction and leave her family forever? In this futuristic society of Chicago, the city is divided into five factions where each faction is dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue. Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). Once a year, every sixteen year old must make select a faction of their choice and go through a very competitive and dangerous imitation to prove their loyalty to their faction. (This is all I will say before I give away which faction she chooses and what happens afterwards.) The reason why I am crazy for this series is because it is very creative, original, and reminded me a lot of the dystopian environment found in The Hunger Games. At the end of the first book, your mind will be full with so many questions that you will not want to stop thinking about it until you have read more. At the end of the second book, Insurgent, most of those questions are answered but new questions will arise as well. The anticipation is growing every single day as I wait for the third book to come out next year.Â
I am also waiting for The Mark of Athena to come out as well. Rick Riordan is literally my favourite authour EVER and I honestly love his books! In the mean time before it comes out, why don’t you read Rick Riordan’s new book, The Demigold Diaries? What do you guys think is going to happen in this novel? Did you read The Kane Chronicles? Do you believe in the possible idea of a combination of the Percy Jackson series and The Kane Chronicles? That would be awesome, wouldn’t it?

One of the series i’ve been waiting for was The princess diaries because it’s very amusing and humorous. I love the series very much. Each book has it’s own topic or a message to learn from. I was anxiously waiting and hoping the the final novel would have an ending which can leave a very funny,memorable and light-hearted impression on me!

Rick Riordan’s good, but my favourite is J.K. Rowling…I’ve read all his other books…and watched the Percy Jackson movie, too. Greek mythology is just so cool!
