  1. I think Word Out is a great place for teens to interact with other teens and share opinions and ideas. Ever since summer started, some of us had no connection with a large group of teens, so having programs and different libraries really helped us get more social over the summer. As a last two words, i would like to say “Thank you!” on behalf of myself and all the other teens participating on this website.

  2. I think its a great program and theres a lot of things you can do. Usually at summer time i’m always at home and my friends live far. So word out helps me conect and have something to do. Since i am an avid reader I’m always looking for a good book and i really like the book recomandations. Word out is great and i hope more teens and take part.

  4. This was my first time for Word Out. I just found out about it this summer, but I really liked it so I hope to be a part of it again next summer. This program has been wonderful…except I didn’t win any prizes 🙂 I was surprised at the number of participants in Word Out, maybe next summer, there will be even more teens involved! Like Sunny I’d like to thank all the librarians and all the other people who took their time to organize this program!

  6. Hey Wordout!
Like F.Y., this is my first time with Wordout, and I have really enjoyed it! I loved to compete in the contests, and it was great for me to read other peoples entries. Every entry had it’s own unique world, it felt like I was traveling all over the place. Somehow, I think I won’t be sitting at my desk in September, tapping my pencil, trying to think of what to do for a creative writing assignment after all that writing I did here.
This has been my best summer ever, and I can promise you that Wordout will be with my future summers until I’m an “adult”! Thank you to the librarians, other workers, and other participants here on Wordout. With out you all, this program would not be successful.
One last thing, I like the quantity of contests, and it would be great if we could also have a “book of the week” and have a whole discussion over it, librarians, teens, and other workers are all welcome.

  7. Thank you so much for creating such interactive and very creative challenges. Having to win prizes for just coming up with responses was one of the best parts about Word Out. It really kept me going the whole summer and my english skills have only improved. It was awesome reading other people’s entries and also reading the replies that came along. Therefore, thank you and keep the idea of a teen website alive.

  10. For the end of the summer I can’t believe that summer and Word Out are ending. I think that Word Out is the best thing about summer(other than Ice Cream) and I recommend it to all my friends and family. It provides me with a plan to interact with other teens and make friends. At the event We meet many new people who love to read as much as I do. If I were to describe Word Out in one word It would be Fantasesoneaticalsuperzing! ! ! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 We get to have these amazing contests for awesome prizes like an e-reader and a Free Book. It told me about when there was an author coming in such as Marina Cohen the author of the book Ghost Ride or if there is a book sale of sorts like the awesome Lillian H. Smith SF Booksale. From Word Out I learned about all the hot new books that I could download or get from the library and I got to do fun surveys that it afford like about the ‘Leviathan’.
I love Word Out and to the creator of Word Out I give them Two thumbs and Two toes up for them making our summer more fun ( and if I had a third arm I would raise that thumb as well ) Have an amazing summer and thank you. Matthew

  11. I just found out about Word Out like 3 weeks ago and those were the best 3 weeks of my summer! I think Word Out is the best part of summer (books being 2nd best.) and i look forward to it next year! If i had to sum it up in one word, it’d be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!!!!!!!!=)I really liked — no LOVED! — the book recommendation section and reading all the contest entries (seeing as i find out about it after it’s done.)one of my faves was The Dark Endeavor, by Kenneth Oppel, but the best book of the summer would have to be The Record of a Fallen Vampire, by Kyō Shirodaira, because it had that little Word Out 2012 bookmark on it otherwise, i wouldn’t have given it a second thought. On another note, i’d like to say thank-you on behalf of all the Word Out users to the creater(s) of it. -Ruby=)

  13. It’s an amazing program, that allows kids to actually use their brains during the summer instead of turnign into mush. Some people only read assigned books for school and Word Out helped me find books I actually like to read. I got to meet some awesome authors and authors got to meet their fans. WORD OUT is truly awesome, and it made my summer a whole lot more memorable. Thank You to everyone who organized Word Out and made it possible. It is very appreciated.
