The Bite of the Mango seems interesting in the sense of how people would live and thing that others would go through and what some people have has a reality to them, some of it sounds really sad.

I’m in the process of reading “The Hunger Games” and I find it very adventurous and filled with a lot of excitement. I’m looking forward to the turn in the book, which changes everything.

Has anyone read “Air Head” by Mac Cabot? It is an interesting science fiction book I read last week. It’s about an ordinary girl who turns in to this world’d most wanted model!

The Hunger Games could be a good book to read 🙂
Also, the Bite of the Mango does seem like a sad book to read, but would allow us to see how people in other parts of the world live.

The Bite of the Mango sounds really sad. But it sounds like an interesting read.

I really want to read the Hunger Games. Some of my friends have read it, and they told me that it was absolutely amazing.

I also read Uglies and the other books, Pretties, Specials and Extras. I found that the first couple of books were good, but after a while, when I was reading Specials and Extras, I got bored of it. The story also changes in the 4th book, where the focus isn’t on Tally Youngblood ( the main character in the other 3 books), it’s on another person named Aya. The story doesn’t really seem realistic to me though… Pretties and Specials basically remind me of robots, but they are human. Oh, and about the Hunger Games. It seems really interesting, I already have a hold on it. I’m also really interested in the Bite of the Mango, which shows how many people are living in countries that don’t have much human rights or freedom.

just finished reading Dangerous Girls by R.L.Stine. it’s a pretty good book. it’s about this twin sisters Destiny, and Livvy Weller who came back as half-vampires from their summer camp vacation. when they got back home, they suddenly have this hungry blood-thirst feeling. As the nightmare began they start to look for a cure and to become human again, and…

I finished reading Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, and it is an awesome book. It explains the story of an orphaned red-head girl, Anne Shirley, and her adventures of her imagination and trying to belong.

I also read the Secret Identity of Devon Daleny! It is a great book about Karma and consequences of lying just to fit in. A t teenage girl named Devon goes away for the summer, pretending to be someone who she isn’t and makes a friend named Lexi. Her world comes crashing down when Lexi moves into Devon’s town, and Devon really isn’t that popular.
Its a funny story about, friendship, lying, trying to fit in, and falling in love!

The bite of the Mango seems very sad.
But I still would like to read it. In this true story, imagine what would happen to you if you were in her place.

wow bite of a manga is so intense but real. because this kind of situations do happen in real life. just looking at the cover makes me feel so sad. Definately a book that should be read so that people can have a better understanding of what could be happening in other places than their own

All these books seem good….and I placed a hold on hunger games but I think it is going to take more than a year to come to me….it seems like people put the book on hold and take it home and read it on the last day or something…all I know is that it takes forever to get the books you place a hold on…and by the time it gets here you aren’t interested in the book anymore….
Anyways…..has anyone read any good book about vampires or werewolves….it seems like I’ve read them all…..and if you want a great action packed romance book….I highly recommend “Blood and Chocolate”

I think its really good to read books like The Bite of the Mango because even tho they make u sad and stuff, u learn alot from such books and become more aware of the issues around the world….these books give us chances to open our eyes to the reality of the challenges that many individuals around the Earth are facing and to want to help them somehow, and at the same time, be thankful, happy, and content with our own lives 😀

THE BITE OF THE MANGO:
The book makes you sad, but still you learn alot from it and it teaches us not to repeat things again in the future..it makes you aware of things that could happen around you. This book gives us a chance to feel the characters frustration. It shows us that many people around the world suffer for life and the suffering makes us want to hepl them in any way!!!
So watch your lives and make sure you help people and in return they shall help YOU!!!!

Wow i can’t belive its already August and i am really thankful for Word Out since i had no summer plans, i’ve written and commented on books that i am looking forward to read! So yea :). I want to read a Bite Of Mango it sounds really great but it sounds sooo sad at the same time i can’t imagine having a child at the age of 12, being raped, and hands cut off by rebel soldiers. I honestly can’t imagine that espically since this book is non-fiction!
Also, the author of the book actully wrote about it to tell her story to the world to let everyone know that there are those things in the world do exist! Wow i have to get this book. This book is a perfect example of why everyone who is forunete to live under a roof, have food, family, and education because most people in the world would do anything to be in our positions right know and alot of people aren’t thankful and are rude to thier family members, run away from home, throw away food, and skip school so it hurts me to know that 🙁 so everyone should be thankful and i think thats the authors message too. So i am going to get that book!

I’ve read “The Bite of the Mango”, and it is absolutely spectacular. The author writes in a very honest tone, which makes her story all the more powerful. The amazing thing about that book is that it not only shows the hardships that Mariatu faced, but also described how she pulled through it all.
It seems easy at first to pity her (with everything that she’s been through), but I think she deserves admiration and respect, rather than pity. It must have been hard to first live through all of that, and then come to terms with it enough to share her story with the world. What an inspiring story it is!
I’ve also read “The Hunger Games”, which I enjoyed very much. This futuristic and fast paced novel had me captivated from start to finish. I love Peeta! <3
